令和5年9月4日（月）～9月8日（金）の5日間、鹿児島市のセンテラス天文館にて、高専機構（主催）、長岡技科大・豊橋技科大（共催）、鹿児島高専が担当となりJSTS 2023（持続可能な社会構築への貢献のための科学技術に関する日本セミナー）が開催しました。

セミナーは現地参加とオンラインのハイブリッドで行われ、各高専、長岡技科大、豊橋技科大、海外協定校（泰日工業大学、UTM、MJIIT、Ngee Ann Polytechnic、UiTM、Finland Metropolia University）より36名が参加しました。

JSTS 2023のテーマは「人類の未来と自然の共生をデザインする」。参加者はSDGｓについてだけでなく、課題解決やＡＩなど、ＳＤＧｓの目標を達成するための手段についても学びました。

それぞれのチームが、限られた期間の中で、言葉の壁を乗り越え協力し、最終日には堂々たる姿でプレゼンテーションに臨みました。

JSTS (Japan Seminar on Technology for Sustainability) 2023  took place at Centerrace TENMONKAN  from September 4 to 8, 2023, hosted by Kagoshima KOSEN. The event was sponsored by National Institute of Technology, and co-sponsored by Nagaoka University of Technology and Toyohashi University of Technology.

The seminar was a hybrid of on-site and online participation, and the 36 passionate participants came not only from domestic KOSEN and universities, but also from overseas partner universities, such as Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology, UTM, MJIIT, UiTM, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Finland Metropolia University.

The theme of the JSTS 2023 was “Designing the Future of Humankind and our Coexistence with Nature,” and participants learned and discussed how to achieve the 17 goals of the SDGs. Along with the SDGs, participants learned some of the measures to help achieve the goals, including problem solving skills, and AI.

One of the highlights of the event was that, despite the language barrier and the limited time provided, each team succeeded in building strong teamwork and gave outstanding presentation on the final day.
